Squeaky Mavel Team Up

January 28th, 2009 · 5 Comments · Batman, Spider-Man, Superheroes, Superman, The Incredible Hulk

I could have sworn I posted these on my old site. I poked around a bit and didn’t find them. So maybe these toys were lost when my old hosting company removed my site from their servers (before I backed up the site).

Anyways, here are some toys that are packaged under the Mavel (I guess they meant Marvel) Team Up line. Mr. Bootleg Toy Maker just grabbed a label cuz this set of figures is more like a DC/Marvel crossover. But then again, Mr. Bootleg Toy Maker did pay some attention to detail because the card shows all the characters that are packaged in this set.

These toys must have been really cheap cuz when I pulled them out of storage, I had like six or seven of these packs. These figures are actually squeaky toys and they are pretty darn good looking too! The figures are small and easy to package which I saw as a big, big plus! I think I’ve had these things at least six or seven years.
Like I said before, all the figures are squeaky toys. They stand a little more than four inches in height. All the figures have articulation in the arms and at the hip (meaning I can turn them round and round and round at the hip).

Here are the figures. First up are Spider-Man and Batman. I have no idea where the molds for these toys came from. What do you think? Is that the Michael Keaton Batman? Usually, I’m pretty appalled at the quality behind the bootlegs. But these bad boys have some nice paint jobs and pretty darn good detail.

Superman and The Hulk are the other two figures in the pack. The Hulk is the most comical looking of these toys. While I think the bootleggers were trying to make him look ferocious, he looks more like he needs to go poop. It’s kind of hard to see, but The Hulk is is two shades of green. His arms are a brighter green than the rest of his body.

Overall, these are some pretty nice figures. I don’t care if they are squeaky toys. For bootlegs, these are ones that I wouldn’t mind displaying in my toy room (if I had a toy room).

    Wow! Great find!

I love collecting dog toys that could be
mistaken for children’s toys and these
fit the bill except they aren’t marketed
as dog toys. I guess that’s a pretty big
exception – Oh well! The header card
and the plastic bag resemble some
    dog toy packaging I’ve seen.

Anyway, I love how the Hulk looks like
    he’s yelling, “STELLLAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
    Ha Ha Ha

and for Superman I wish there was a
hamburger in his uplifted hand. That
hand position is perfect for holding
    any sandwich product!

Thanks for sharing these toy treasures
    with us Internet peoples :)

You missed how “Marvel” is spelt on the packaging. :P

Doh!!! Fixed it! I guess it’s true that you see what you want to see and not what’s really there? Nice find!

Oh man! These are slightly disturbing. It’s like they all have acondoplasia. They could be on a show called “Little Heroes, Big World”.
