Batbot Changer

July 29th, 2009 · 11 Comments · Batman

For any folks who have written to me lately, I know I haven’t replied. But I promise I will. I’ve just been buried in work and visiting different parts of the country. It leaves me really, very little playtime. So when I am home, I prefer to go out and chase the ladies rather than sit in front of the computer. I promise I’ll get back to all of you who have written as soon as possible. 🙂

Recently, a visitor published a photo of his Batmobile Transformer on the Photo Gallery. Well, I remembered how much I loved that particular toy. So I dug it up for a brand new review.

Ladies and gents, behold the Batbot Changer…!

Now this package isn’t the same as the one posted in the Photo Gallery. But I know I have that set too. I just don’t know where it is. So if you’d like to see a variant on this figure, head over and check it out (sorry, you’re just gonna have to dig around to find it).
I left the price tag on this toy. It cost me a buck ninety nine back around 2000 I guess? I honestly don’t know how long ago I bought it. But it was cheap enough that I’ve got six of them stashed away.

The back of the card features some really simple instructions for transforming the Batmobile knock off into ‘bot mode. Even though it’s plain black and white, I like the simplicity of this card back.

Honestly? I have no idea what the sticker on top of the toy is supposed to be. I’ve looked long and hard and just haven’t been able to figure it out.

Now if anybody tries to tell you this isn’t a Batmobile knock off, then they don’t know what they are talking about. Just look at this! Ain’t it sweet? I hadn’t looked at this toy in a long time and I’ve forgotten how much of a favorite this is of mine. You should see my Batmobile collection. It’s pretty good sized now.

This review had to include the back end of this vehicle. Just so you can see that the bootleg toy makers even took the time to get the detail on the rear close enough to make you think you’ve got a Batmobile on your hands.

Stats! This thing measures in at about five inches in length. The height of the fins on the rear of the Batmobile are just over an inch. I thought about taking one of these out of the package and transforming it for you. But I’ve decided that if I ever need any trade bait, this baby will do. I mean come on, surely there aren’t too many of these things left in the world.
If I ever dig up the Batbot Changer in the other packaging, I don’t think I’ll be posting it. You’re just gonna have to go visit it at the Photo Gallery.

Trade bait? As in, you’d actually consider getting rid of that thing? ARE YOU INSANE, JOE?!?!?

Seriously, a transforming Batmobile is made of win — not only would I take it out of the package, I’d keep it displayed in a compartment in the wall next to my bed. Upon my death, it would be affixed to my urn — which would be sculpted with the grooves necessary for it to be displayed in either mode. You know, in case my ghost felt like playing with it or something. 😉

It’s too bad Mattel has the DC license and not Hasbro — Batman Transformers would make much more sense than these Marvel Crossovers ones.

I agree with Wes keep it. Rare items such as this baby are hard to come buy unless you can buy em in bulk and sell em for a buck like Save A Lot or a 98cent store.I don’t even have a 98 cent sotre in my area anymore wish i did.

Ahhh… but you see, I’m a big Batmobile collector. When I found this treasure, I scooped up almost all of the that were in the store. So I’ve got extras as trade bait. Of course, I wonder how much this would go for if it was put up on Ebay?

If you ever consider trading/selling one of these bad boys put my name at the top of the list!

    That’s just plain cool.

Wow! That rocks! Batbot Changer. The head looks more like a cat head then a bat head.

Wait? did you say you have more? Are any of them up for sale? i’ll buy one for £5-£10 ($2.50-$20)
If you’re intrested, send me an email! I’ve always wanted a bootleg toy.
