Spawn Four Pack Part II

July 8th, 2009 · 6 Comments · Spawn, Superheroes

This set follows up on the other Spawn bootleg figures that come in a four pack. You have to know these figures are kind of old due to the fact that the figures have no LED sitting right in the middle of their chest. In the first post I estimated that I had these things since around 2005, 2006. But I could be wrong and these bootleg figures may actually have been in my collection much longer than that.
It’s kind of hard to tell since bootleg toys generally do not have a year printed anywhere on the carton.

Well, enough of my rambling. Let’s take a gander at this foursome.

Same cool packaging as the first set posted. Nice shots of the action figures in action, a cool Spawn logo and nice city skyline. Too bad the cardboard is extremely flimsy and the bubble is can be crushed as easily as well, as a bubble on a bootleg card package.

Viking Spawn pictured above sure doesn’t look like any Viking I’ve ever seen. I think this guy may have popped up after I stopped reading Spawn. Although I have to admit that I really enjoyed the series. I’ve heard the comic book has gotten much darker since it’s initial inception.

I wish I could tell you this figure really does look as cool as it does. But in real life, it’s pretty scrungy looking. This is the figure that’s identified as SIMMONT on the card back. But to be quite honest, I have no idea what character this is. I also don’t feel like snooping around the ‘net to find out. So feel free to enlighten me by leaving a comment.

Medieval Spawn here is really a poor copy of the original action figure. The funniest thing about this guy is that the bootleg toy makers got it totally wrong on the packaging. The card back names this character Spawn II. Go figure.

Finally, the last figure in this bootleg toy series in Window Maker Widow Maker.

This thing’s a scrawny little grey figure that does no justice whatsoever to the ‘real’ figure. The colors are completely bland on this figure and while the bootleggers misnaming this thing is a hoot. The figure itself leaves much to be desired, even for a bootleg toy.

So in case you missed it on the first go ’round. Here’s the card back that I keep referring to in this post:

Yeah, this set is definitely one for the ages. Not too many Spawn bootleg toys are out there (almost like there are hardly any Star Trek bootleg figures). So any chance to snag them is always a great opportunity. Although I’ve been waiting for a long time for another opportunity to snag some Spawn bootleg toys

Finally, if you really want to see the Ultimate in Spawn action figures. I highly recommend the SPAWN COLLECTION blog. It’s got an amazing amount of Spawn toys and figures that you’ll go dizzy just wandering around the site. While you’re there, be sure to say hi to the webmaster. He’s a pretty cool guy.

Thanks for the link to that blog; I used to be a huge Spawn dork, so I’ll enjoy the place, I’m sure.

Incidentally, Viking Spawn wasn’t in the comics (though he did come with his own comic book pack-in), he was just one of a hundred What If?/Elseworlds type Spawn figures.

The white masked guy is one of Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood characters that are basically pallette swapped X-Force characters. I can’t remember his name but it was a 90’s classic like KILLROCK or HARDSMASH

The Simmont figure is Rob Liefeld’s Die Hard character.
